Jens Sparschuh serves up a warm-hearted story about Odo Weingaertner, a retiring food critic whose scathing final review leads to an unexpected new life.

After his scathing critique of a country inn, Odo travels there to settle a dispute with the landlady, Senta. Through a series of mishaps, including losing his apartment, he ends up working as a cook at the very inn he panned.
