Detective Georg Dengler who once worked for the Bundeskriminalamt (BKA) is dealing with his first investigation:
A man was killed in a plane crash twelve years ago, yet the circumstances of his disappearance seem to be rather strange as in a phone call with his daughter he said that he had missed the plane. As former employee of the Treuhand Society and editor of the so called »Blue List« - a document that led the German Unification into a complete new direction – he had access to important insider information.
Dengler’s first case goes back to the early 90s, a decade characterized by political changes and the greed for money. Three non-clarified incidents stand out and are linked to the case, i.e. the assassination of Carsten D. Rohwedder, president of the Treuhand Society, in April 1991, followed by a plane crash in Thailand only six weeks later that killed 223 people, and finally Wolfgang Grams, former member of the RAF, who was shot by the police in June 1993. Ten years after his death the BKA claims he was at the site of crime when Rohwedder got killed. In fact, none of these »incidents« have ever been cleared up. »When authorities fail, the storyteller should have the right to say: It’s only a story but maybe it really happened the same way.«
