It sounds like a fairy tale: Lars Leese who played football just for fun was dicovered when he was 22 years old and became a pro, first in Germany, later he was the keeper of the British first league team of Barnsley. With them he even won against Liverpool. A unique career which ended as promptly as it begun when Barnsley did not prolong Leese´s contract. A very funny mixture of football story and biography, full of anecdotes, moving and knowledgeable like Nick Hornby´s Fever Pitch.
