Commissioner Voss is on holiday in Poland, with Maja, his mother’s carer. While Voss is trying to adapt to the idea that they are probably actually a couple, Maja suddenly disappears. A short while after, a software developer falls off scaffolding on his villa in Bad Freienwalde, Brandenburg, and dies. What initially appears to be an accident turns into a case that calls into question all certainties, even love itself. Looking for the woman he thought he knew, Maja becomes more and more of a stranger to Voss. Is she embroiled in criminal intrigues? Is she even the person she claims to be? And why do all clues lead to the dead body in Bad Freienwalde?
