Joachim Lottmann describes the life of a middle-aged man who makes it his task to live among young people, exploring their world. Unlike his own mate´s view, the protagonist is not convinced that todays youth is lost. Instead, he celebrates the new like them: Yesterday is dumb, today is great, tomorrow is ecstasy! He is the first grown-up living among them – in the heart of an extremely youth-focused culture. He explores their rituals, compares the new German adolescents with their predecessors, listens to their music, celebrates their parties, takes their drugs, adores their women and tries to understand their specific culture.
While his first novel_ Mai, Juni,_ Juli was an angry novel reviewing the Eighties with their neverending German postwar-problems, this is the novel of the beginning 21st century.
A look into the heart of today´s fun-society.
