Cookys

This novel tells the story of a passion: Cooking! The protagonist Gerd Krüger, nicknamed Cooky, grows up in the 70s – closemouthed and constantly in love with someone. He doesn´t talk to girls but cooks for them and soon realizes that a well-composed meal can say more than a thousand words. This experience influences his further career: He steadily works his way up until he becomes the successful manager of the first-class restaurant »Cookys«.
The book captures the spirit of the 70s: parties, beer, drugs, school, girls, insecurity, friendship, music and – cooking.
Cookys is a novel about growing up, about friendship, loss and all the difficulties that come with love. It is a declaration of love to the unifying power of cooking – great entertainment, an easy read, full of cinematic pictures!
