The Diaries. 1963-1979

He was one of the most original political thinkers of the German Republic. He fought for a socialist revolution in West Germany and against late stalinism in East Europe. He was the idol of a whole generation and one of the rare left wings who wanted a unified Germany.
Rudi Dutschke died in December 1979 as a result of having been shot in April 1968. His death left a political void that could not be filled anymore.
For the first time now his diaries are published in total. They show how Rudi Dutschke tried to fulfill his roles as man, husband, father, they show his doubts and helplessness and his deep and everlasting conviction, that our society had to be changed radically for the humans to become human again.
