The Table Is Growing Cold

“Everyone talks about survival,” Joachim Sartorius says of his new poems. Survival as the restoration of an aura in a life whose reality is falling apart increasingly quickly. The distinctive poetry of these verses arises from the “Ikonen des Übergangs” (“Icons of transition”) between the geographic, historical, personal and linguistic realms.
