It all started one lonely, rainy day on holiday in Thailand. Instead of lying on an idyllic beach in the sun, Bjarne Mädel found himself sheltering from torrential rain in an Indian bar and thinking: "Oh, I’m in a ridiculous mood / Sitting in Thailand eating Indian food!"
Summing up the absurdity of his situation in a short rhyme cheered him up so much that from then on he often spoke in verse. The only setback to his career as a budding poet was suffered in America where his lecturer underlined every single word of a recently composed masterpiece.
His poems are inspired by everyday life. He examines everything that is important to him: anarchy, the morning after, Thai massages, herniated discs, celebrities on holiday and dialogues with his own lungs. Hilariously funny and ambiguous – because every good joke hides a disaster …
